as a belated 80th birthday treat for my mum, who is a keen gardener, we are thinking about taking her on a cruise in Holland next April to see the Keukenhof gardens and the Floriade, [a huge horticulture exhibition] which only happens every 10 years.
being ourselves of "a certain age" we get the Saga travel brochures and found a couple of river cruises which would take us there.
my question is whether anyone here has ever been on a Saga cruise, or alternatively on a Rhine cruise that takes in the gardens, and if so, what you thought of it?
PS - FYI, Saga is a UK organisation which caters exclusively for the over 50 age group.
anyone been on a Saga cruise or a Rhine cruise in Holland?

No personal experience with Saga
www.tauck.com overland Holand/Belgium was great
Rhine cruise with Uniworld
Might check over on cruisecritic.com for Saga
have seen good reviews from the UK bluehairs...
Happy Travels,
hi qwovadis,
thanks for the links.
i had a look but they only offer cruises of at least 10 days in this area - too long for us, i think.
I had already looked at the cruisecritic.com website but they don't review the boats that Saga uses on this route, though the reviews of Saga are generally positive. I can also say that the person I spoke to at Saga this morning bent over backwards to help, which was good for a first experience.
in fact the shorter of the two cruises that we were looking at is sold out and I'm having trouble convincing DH that he wants to do the longer one. but as it's primarily for my mum, i think I'll get there!
