We will be in Rome only for the day arriving on Crystal Cruises. Since we are traveling with my elderly mother I am looking for a large van with a driver that can
accomodate 9 of us plus a wheelchair. She doesn't need the wheelchair all the time. We would like to tour the most important sights in Rome. If anyone can recommend a guide that can take us around I would so appreciate it. Any other suggestions are most welcome. Don't know if we might have to go in two vehicles since it's difficult to find a passenger van for 9 or whether there are small tour groups, although not as ideal.
P.S. We will also be needing a guide for Florence as well.

Can I suggest you look at Rome in Limo http://www.romeinlimo.com/
We used them for Rome & Florence (off of a Princess cruise). They are well thought of - see Cruise Critic forum for reviews & ideas boards.cruisecritic.com
and we had great days in both places with them. We did Florence & Pisa & all were less costly than a ships tour. They do have larger vehicles - I think we were a group of 8 or 10.
Ditto to....http://www.romeinlimo.com We used them with a group in November and we had a rollator that folded up.. We have used Salvatore and the famous Claudio. the vans are very spacious and the drivers/guides are wonderful. I don't think you'll have a problem with nine people in their vans.
Janev & ParrotMom:
You don't know how relieved I am. I will definitely be in touch with romeinlimo. Finished checking their website and they are exactly what we were looking for. Thanks so much!!
