We are taking a Pullmantur Cruise May 21 from Athens to Verenna, Italy.
The cruise line is owned by Royal Caribbean/Celebrity but is a Spanish cruise line. Has anyone sailed with this line? We are 2 American couples and only chose this cruise because it fit into our dates for our already booked airfare.
The main reason we are taking the cruise is because it SIMPLIFIES our itinerary.
It gets us to the islands we want and we can disembark in Venice instead of trying to FLY to Venice from Athens. It also eliminated ferries or air connections to Santorine and Mykonos.
I would appreciates any opinions of this cruise line. We know it is only a 3 star line and that the main language will be Spanish, but it was the only cruise to fit our schedule.
How was the food, service, entertainment etc?
Thanks for any imput.
Has anyone cruised with Pullmantur Cruise line?

Thanks Sassafrass and Someother guy. The web sites noted are helpful. I appreciate your research.
Will there likely be rough seas in the Aegean or Adriatic in May?
The wind can be a problem in that region, but I've taken several ferries around Greece in late May and didn't really find the ride that bad. And hydrofoil ferries don't have the stabilizers of these big ships.
The one think you'll find is that Pullmantur ships are older Royal Caribbean ships, so they don't have any of the most recent bells and whistles. And announcements may not be made in English unless there are sufficient numbers of English speakers aboard.
Hi nannibray, I know you started this thread a few months ago but I felt my reply may put you at ease for your upcoming cruise. I am an Australian and went on a Pullmantur 10 day cruise (Baltic Sea) last July. I was travelling with a Spanish family but only understand and speak very rudimentary Spanish. Knowing it was a Spanish cruiseline I was apprehensive but my experience onboard was great, even though I was the only English speaking passenger on board!!
All the crew spoke English and all announcements were made first in Spanish, then in English. After discovering I was an English speaker I had a special menu printed for me each night. I was even given a special welcome while attending a show in the Broadway showroom! I felt that the crew were very understanding of my position and did their best to make me feel at ease. I never felt hindered on the boat, all entertainment was performance or singing, with the exception of one night with a Spanish comedian. This was no problem as there were plenty of other bars with bands/singing to entertain me.
The only thing I would recommend if it is possible to avoid it is doing the organised day excursions. Only Spanish was spoken and it can be frustrating to see amazing places but not understand the commentary. If I was not travelling with a group I would have done the sightseeing by myself or used one of the English speaking tour companies that gather at each port when the boat arrives.
Overall I loved the food, entertainment and facilities, so much so that I am going on a Mediterranean cruise with Pullmantur this year.
Hi Nannibray, by now you will have been on your cruise, I would love to hear from you on how it went. We are contemplating Pullmantur this year. Which one did you go on? We're thinking of the Zenith and maybe the Sovereign. Look forward to hearing from you.
Hi Nannibray, I am booked on the Pullmantur Zenith Oct. 7/13, for pretty much same reasons as you - How did you like it? My husband and I are Canadian, like to have a bottle of wine on our balcony at night - and horror of horrors, we smoke. Will we enjoy it? Hope to hear from you.
