My parents want to be connected to the family while on their cruise through the Panama Canal - does anyone have a suggestion on how to access the internet without paying the huge fee that Princess ask for?
Thank you,

If you want internet on a ship, you have to pay for it, and it's really slow. They can buy a package that will bring the costs down to a more reasonable level, but there's no real way to avoid it. In some places they may be able to find free Wi-Fi on shore, but it seems like a real waste of time to hunt for that when you have only a limited time ashore.
Why do they need to be in constant contact with family? This is the real question. Can't anyone travel any longer without checking in back home daily, if not hourly? This is something I just don't get.
Thanks,
They are elderly and want to feel safe I guess.
