Hi!
Princess generally does a wonderful cruise experience - people return with happy, good feedback. They have nice service, beautiful ships (small or large, depending on your preference). My parents have done 3 "trips of a lifetime" with Princess to Asia, French Polynesia and an Australia circumnavigation and enjoyed the trips so much because the service is good and itineraries and ports are unusual, interesting, educational. Really, Princess is always a solid choice in my opinion.
We did the full transition with another cruise line, and I always advise, if possible, go west to east, get up early on the morning of the canal not to miss arrival in the dark.
