I really liked the Dawn Prinicess. It was my first Princess cruise. I've cruised with Carnival and RCL and prefer Princess above all. I'm going on my first NCL cruise in a few months so I'll let you know what I think of that when I get back. I think the Dawn Princess is the perfect size ship, too. It's not small, but it's not huge. The few huge ships I've gone on always seem too crowded - you have to wait in line for everything. I think you'll find a little older crowd which will make things a little quieter. (I've heard the same about HAL.) There were a lot of European travelers on the ship - left from San Juan. The food is good and they let me take several bottles of wine on board. The activities are about the same you'll find on any other ship. I have fun with the activities even if they seem to be a little corny. I especially had fun with the line dancing class. The shows were real good. It's not the newest ship so some things may appear dated. But, to this date - it's been my favorite ship. I've probably been on about 9-10 cruises, too.
P.S. My name is Dawn and the cabin steward had a good time putting "Princess Dawn" on the name plate outside my cabin.
