I'm not sure you'll find that much differentiation in pricing between larger and smaller river cruise companies, but you will find more newer, more modern ships in the bigger fleets.
Whether that's good or bad is up to you. But river cruises aren't cheap unless you book one of the older, budget-minded cruises. You normally pay at least $1600 to $1800 per week (with many cruises being longer itineraries). But you may find more value in booking a package that includes air; this is where you can really find the best values (you may not save dramatically on the cruise cost with this, but you can save significantly on the airfare).
