We will be taking the baltic cruise on Vision of the Seas soon. Has anyone done any of the shore excursions recently through royal carribbean that are in St petersburg, Russia? I like the walking tour idea. We don't want to have to get a visa since our stay is only 1 day (someone had suggested a company called DenRus) but I'm not sure they work with Royal Carribbean

If it is not too late already you call contact Alla Tours or Denrus
The Blatic must be a popular destination ... there has been a lot of Baltic crusie post lately.
We sued Alla tour, highly recommend. I ahve heard STP and Red October are also very good, along with DenRus.
You can read my trip report on Alla Tour here. My tour with them was just 2 months ago.

denrus is private so no worries inre to RCI. Denrus will work with you and take care of the visa issue as well. Si will Alla and red Oct.

I do think Eschew meant "used" and not sued.
No Eschew sued them!

He got such a high payout that he can "highly recommend" them !!
( I think I am in trouble here ....I am getting while the getting is good.)
Percy, I should sue for a refund for their Helsinki diaster. However, tey did a wonderful job for St Petersburg
Damn those fingers thst doesn't seem want to work properly ...
Fodor should add spell check ... not that it will catch that one.
Hey guys how's the weather by you? It's 98 here with a 102 heat index in Chi town.
Going to be in the low 80's this weekend. Just nice !
The visa is a lot of effort/cost for one day. I would stay with the ship's tour.
If you use Alla Tour or St Pete's, they issue blanket visas just like the ship's. No fuss at all. We used (not sued
) Alla Tours in June this year and all we did was printed the tour tickets on-line, showed it to Russian Immigration, got a stamp on the passport and a piece of paper stuck inside the passport and that's it!
The ship would like you to think that it is only them that can ofer the blanket visa. Not true. We paid Alla $300 US per person for the 2 days. Small group of 10 in a Mercedes Van with a first class tour guide and a driver. A packed hot lunch on the first day and a sit down lunch on the second day. Bottled water provided. Arranged for Souvenir shopping at 8:30 am so that we don't waste precious time during the museum operating hours. We visited more places than the ship's excursion and paid at least $100 less per person, if not more.
