If you've just paid a large amount (of euros) for a private driver excursion from a cruise stop, are you expected to tip the driver a lot or a little?

You would tip the same as if you were in a restaurant or any other scenario where tipping is the norm. We have found that the majority of the private tours we have taken the guide/driver really went out of their way to be sure we saw everything, included perks you wouldn't get on a ship's tour etc and we tipped accordingly. We did have one occasion where we tipped the minimun. A female tour guide in Portugal. The tour wasn't great to begin with and when we stopped for lunch she automatically ordered for herself as well - not to mention the wine she consumed.
