We are booked on a Viking river cruise along the Danube which ends in Nurenberg. We've decided not to take the transportation and hotel package offered by Viking. I've booked a hotel and am able to get a public bus.
We would like to take a private car from Nurenberg to our hotel I have some names thatI got from the Internet, but I was wondering if anyone has used a private car service.

Hi mollybee, doesn't look like there's much going on in these cruise boards, have you looked at cruisecritic.com, you could go into river & canal cruises and post your question there, also Viking is on facebook and that's another good place for your questions. I'm a little confused by your post tho, are you looking at a private car from the port in Nuremberg to your hotel there or in Prague?

You could take the train, about 3 hrs. depending upon boarding time. Here's the link:

We were in Nuremberg in Dec. '09 and they have a very extensive train service there, we were very impressed. It looks like it's about 3.5 hr. driving time by bus so private car would probably be the same. Did you get a price for the private car?

It's expensive - E345. for 2 (one way). Think I'd consider the train or bus.
