Hi to all my Fodors friends,
has anyone here sailed on QE2 in Princess Grill cabin? How do we get to the restaurant? Obviously not through Caronia. Is the only way to go up and down or down and up around Caronia? Is there a bar somewhere close to PG that we can use?
Many thanks
Gordon

There are stairs down to the Princess Grill (on Quarter Deck) just aft of the Maurentania Restaurant (on Upper Deck). So one (very pleasant) place to have a before-dinner drink is the Crystal Bar on Upper Deck, which is immediately adjacent to these stairs.
It's so unpublicized, I don't even see it on the deck plans, but there is also a small "Princess Grill Bar" (?name, aka "Grill Room Bar") on One Deck, just BELOW the Princess Grill. It was originally limited to Grill passengers, but that is no longer true. You just have to be able to find it. A spiral staircase connects it with the restaurant above (and there is an entrance on One Deck).
These idiosyncracies are part of the fun of the QE2.
Have a good trip. I'll be on board for the June 2 voyage, and am sorry it will be my last on the QE2.
