14 days is not nearly enough for Italy alone although you could cover the destinations you list. If you want to cover one city in Italy, that is a different story. Same with Switzerland. At most, with 14 days, I would choose 4 stops. Traveling from one to the other will eat up the better part of a day so you will have only 10 or 11 full days to see things.

As an example, I would consider Rome (Vatican City), Venice and Paris or an area of Switzerland, Paris and Amsterdam.

Your Italy itinerary is not practical at all and needs much more time.

I'm afraid you have completely underestimated the size of both Italy and europe. You cannot see those cities in Italy from one place - you would need a different hotel in each city - and cannot begin to do this in 5 days.

You are trying to stuff 30 days of vacation into a 15 pound bag.

Agree that in so few days (and I assume the 14 days include the day you arrive and the day you leave) you should stay in 3 or at most 4 hotels - otherwise you will be spending as much time sitting on trains as actually seeing or doing anything).

So, you can see parts of Italy quickly - with perhaps one town in Switzerland - or a few day in Paris - certainly not both. And make sure you have an open jaws ticket - into the first city and home from the last - or you will waste a whole day getting back to the first city to return home.

Forget Amsterdam unless you drop both Switz and Paris.

Jumping on the same band wagon. You would need an absolute minimum of 9 or 10 days for this . . . Not five. Once you redesign the first 10 days of your itinerary, come back and we can help you decide if you want to add Paris OR Switzerland OR Amsterdam (one - not all three)

Also - I'm wondering why you are spending part of your very limited time in Milan - which is basically a business city,. Naturally there are a few great sights - there are in almost every sizable city in europe - but with the limited time you have you need to e selective.

IMHO, for a first visit the minimum nights you need are:

Rome & Vatican City - 4
Florence (day train to Pisa) - 3
Venice - 3

So you see you really have time for only one other city.
