I have 5 hours transit in Istanbul on my way to and from Riga, any suggestion? Would that be enough to do any thing?

In 2006 I had two short stopovers (one was 7 hrs and the second was shorter) in Istanbul, and I wrote a trip report about them. Here's the link

Plan carefully and you will be able to do something.
From the top of my mind, I can tell you that you can take a taxi from the airport, go to Hagia Sophia for a visit and maybe you can squeeze in Topkapi Palace as well, which is a short distance away.
The Blue Mosque is right across the street from Hagia Sophia.
If it's not crowded in the airport and the traffic helps, you might just strike it lucky.
Thanks Gabriel!
