I am taking college students abroad this summer. 11 days in Paris and 10 days in Amsterdam. I need to be in Zurich 9 days after the end of the program for my flight home (I just picked a random city that was cheap to return from).
Germany seems like a natural choice, but I am doing an extensive 2-3 week trip there in 2014. I don't really want to hang out in France either.
Some places I thought of: Prague, Vienna, Budapest
Obviously I know I can't do everything, but I'm looking to just get a flavor and decide whether to return in the future for more detailed exploration.
I like art and architecture. Don't drink at all and not really into nature.
Any suggestions? How much time to give each city to get a taste. I am a bit strange in that I like to collect countries....so my gut reaction is to quick drive-bys, but I'm not sure.
