Venice is a nice city city, but there are far too many cruise ship tourists ruining it.
Thin
The cruise ships don't start coming til April/May. Right now and March is a good time to be there, thin. You should try it.
Yes, the streets are relatively easy to walk along, once you get away from the "hot spots" of San Marco and Rialto. I'm way out east in Castello, it is a joy to be in this area.
Holly, Keith and I were just in Venice in June.
Why we go back next month?
Thin
My favourite place in Venice, by the way, is the area around Santa Maria Dell' Orto.
Thin
Don't quite understand your question there, thin. But going to Venice every year is a quite enjoyable thing to do.
I had snow when I first arrived in mid-February, and today, we had big, fat flakes coming down for a couple of hours. I hope the sun hasn't gone into permanent hiding!
Yvonne.... don't forget to visit the police station to check on Brunetti... haven't heard from him in awhile -
(His station is in Castello... right? Along with my favorite restaurant.. Corte Sconta.)
False alarm... just got a notice from Amazon that the latest Brunetti is on it's way.
Seriously, have bookmarked your blog. Any news from Venice is good news.

hooray!
The weather continues to be unsettled. Cross your finger that it doesn't rain on Sunday, when thousands of us get out to run, walk or stroll in the Su e Zo per i Ponti.
