This is marketed as Dracula's Castle which is a right turn off for me. Is it that bad?
How busy does it get - thinking of visiting in the afternoon, probably mid September.
The pictures look great but I am wondering if it will be a major disappointment?
Thanks.

Bran castle is in fact a medieval fortress (with almost zero connection to Vlad the Impaler/Dracula) converted into a quaint royal residence in the early 1920s. It's a relatively nice place, you won't be too disappointed (unless you expected it to be scary).
The main annoying Dracula thing are the tacky souvenir stalls nearby but you can just ignore them.
The castle gets about 1000-2000 visitors/day on weekdays and 4000 - 5000 people/day on weekends.
But note there's a more interesting castle in Sinaia, about one hour south-east of Bran (the Peles palace).
Thank you.
