buying a seat on bari to dubrovnik ferry

I will look at getting the 8.40 am train from Rome
to Bari arriving 2pm so would it be possible to
head to port and buy a ticket for the sailing
later that day ...not a cabin just a seat
Lost patience with online as they want
unrealistic booking fee,s
