Sketches from Italy: Rome, Ischia and Frascati

Totally depends on the time of year. This week? absolutely not!
As coastal towns go, De Haan is probably the prettiest - most places along the Belgian coast are far from pretty, with rows of flats along the seafront. Beaches are huge and fairly empty though. In summer it will be very pleasant.
If you are there in spring or summer, and enjoy cycling and walking, it's worth a stop over.
Tulips has it. Much of the Belgian coast has been destroyed by the addition of a ribbon of apartment blocks often only two or three deep. In the winter these can be depressing places while in the summer they resound to the happy sound of small children and dogs. Belgium has some great bike paths and bike rental shops do exist.
Would I stay here or Bruges, I'm afraid it is Bruges every time.
Thank you -- it would be early September for a couple nights en route to Zurich
