Hi myself and my husband are travelling to Croatia, we have a 8 day sailing tour booked which covers Dubrovnik, Mljet, Makarska, Split, Hvar, Korcula, Trstenik and then end's back in Dubrovnik in the morning we then have from the 17th to the 20th to get ourselves (picking up a hire car) from Dubrovnik to Zagreb where we fly to Budapest. I am looking for tips of places to stay as we make our way from Dubrovnik to Zagreb, plitvice lake will definetly be on the itinerary but is there anywhere else we should stop? We have been to Zagreb so do not plan on spending time there beside dropping the car.
Thanks for any tips/ ideas!!

Great idea, I dream of Croatia, because I was not there yet. I wish you a successful and wonderful trip
Sibenik and Zadar, Omis. I'd look into driving into Bosnia as well.
You could drive from Dubrovnik to Trogir and then on to Plitvice and Zagreb. We stayed two nights in Trogir and liked it very much. If memory serves me correctly (often it does not), it's about a four hour drive to Trogir from Dubrovnik.

Hy there.
I would suggest the following: go from Dubrovnik to Trogir, visit the old town. From Trogir go to Šibenik and visit the National park Krka. Sleepover in Šibenik . The next day go to Zadar ( visit the Zadars famous „Sea organ“), and other monuments (many of the listed on the UNESCO-s word heritage list). Sleepover in Zadar. The following day go to Crikvenica (sandy beach), and from Crikvenica to Plitvice lakes. Sleepover in one of the hotels in Plitvica lakes. On your way to Zagreb, the next day, stop at Slunj and tryout they fresh caught river trout. And that that.
If you need any more info (good restaurants and so, contact me on my email).
Have a nice trip.
