Stopping in Dublin for 2 nights/ 1 day on the way home from Spain in June. I have reservations for 2 hotels (free cancellation) . Anchor House Dublin- on Lower Gardiner St (north of river) and at the Grafton Capital hotel - on Lower Stephan st (south of river).
Based on looking at the neighborhood on Googlemap- I am leaning heavily toward the Grafton. Have never been to Dublin. Anybody have any thoughts on this. Thank you,
Debbie

May 24, 2013. How to avoid lines in Paris, and other observations

I'm from Dublin and would really not recommend staying on Gardiner Street. I've met several out-of-towners over the years who had a terrible impression of Dublin based on staying in this area, it's very rough. Definitely stay in the other hotel, Grafton Capital, I don't know about the hotel itself but it's in a perfect location, smack bang in the main shopping/eating/socialising area and close to many tourist attractions.
Thanks, Beccafly- that is what I thought.
