Having a hard time finding a hotel in Switzerland. Many are fully booked in February when we will be there. I have secured a booking at Ermitage Wellness & Spa Hotel (outside of Gstaad). Has anyone stayed here? We will not have a car and will be skiing a few days. Any restaurant recommendations in the area?
Any advice or hotel recommendations would be appreciated. We would like a place near transportation, skiing, shopping.

If you want to include a wellness treatment in your holiday you should try this hotel in Gstaad: http://www.bellevue-gstaad.com They have their own hotel private spa with sauna, pool and more. It is mainly used as a ski hotel and you find restaurants there as well. Urs Gschwend, a famous Michelin star awarded chef, works in one of them. Have a nice stay
I thought you had already decided to stay at the Hotel Ermitage, with much (patient) assistance by swandav. Since you already found out that many hotels are fully booked at that time (it is absolutely peak season) you should be happy to have a confirmed reservation at a really nice hotel and leave it at that.
Ingo, I think this is an old thread; this poster posted a few messages at about the same time.

Oops, thanks, s! Didn't have a look at the date of the original post.
Thanks for all of your help. We decided to stay at the Ermitage. Any one know a good ski guide to hire? The hotel can book one for us but it seems very expensive at 360 CHF. We are only paying 290 CHF in Zermatt.
have a look at the Alpina Gstaad
it's a brand new luxury hotel: http://www.thealpinagstaad.ch/
Oh dear me. I hiked by this hotel in August while it was still being built. It looks so out of place, like a sore thumb stuck down in the Alps. It looks unnatural and fake. Looks like something out of Disneyland.
