We are thinking of traveling to Iceland for a week and doing Day Trips from Reykjavik. We are considering either mid to late May or early July. Does anybody have any advice on which would be better? We are interested in hiking and seeing the natural sights. Also, any suggestions on local tour companies for day trips would be appreciated.

Hi Budd,
loads of companies offer day trips, and longer, which you might need if you want to do any serious hiking, as i don't think that there is much scope near Reykjavik.
have a look at google - I put in iceland tours and got loads of hits, including a TA thread.
in July you will get longer day length - all night in fact.
Yes, we were there mid July, with 22 hours sunlight, a huge advantage for outdoor activities.
