As a day trip from Kas, instead of taking a boat to Kekova, I am thinking that a better option for us would be to visit the island of Meis.
Do you recommend doing that via the public ferry (cheaper, but allowing only about 3 ½ - 4 hrs on the island), or arrange a tour (I would need a tour company recommendation) and stay longer on the island?
We just want to walk around, take pictures, see the blue cave, go up to the castle and have a nice lunch in the harbor. I have no sense of how big the island is, and how much time we need to accomplish all these.
However, if you think that Kekova is still a better option than Meis, I am listening...can you compare the two? We are not interested in the stops for swimming that all the Kekova trips seem to include.
Any advice? Thanks.

If you decide on Kekova, drive to Ucagiz and get a private cruise on a smaller boat rather than the standard cruise. This way you will not have "the stops for swimming".
I have not been to Meis, so cannot advise, otherwise, but Kekova is extraordinary.
OC,
Coming from you, "Kekova is extraordinary" is a good endoresement for me, thanks.
