More Kent/Southeast Questions
I am trying to judge the proper estimation of timing to visit the following places. I know timing is subjective as some will spend more and others less depending on interest but given that, what is the average time needed for
Sissinghurst--1 or 2 hours or a half day?
Bodiam
Petworth
Knole
Ightham Mote
Deal
Walmer
Dover Castle from previous posts requires at least 5 hours or so, right?

In the context of a day's visiting I like to schedule a half day for each of the houses/gardens, including the drive between places and lunch at one or the other. So, generally speaking, a morning at one and the afternoon at another, assuming you still plan to have a car. Do keep in mind the particular opening times (and days) for each.

I posted the same question twice since I didn't see the first one posted.
But places like Deal and Walmer I don't think require a full half day. Trying to judge so I don't cram in too much in one day and do leave room for a nice lunch break somewhere.
It looks like you can walk between Deal and Walmer along the waterfront but can't be sure.

You csn walk from Deal to Walmer but if you intend visiting Walmer Castle, which is well worth a visit then you will need to factor in the time for that visit. If you are intending to travel from London if may be worth while looking at getting the Javelin service from St Pancras to Dover or Ramsgate and then the local train from either station. This Javelin train is NOT the Eurostar but leaves from nearby platforms and is a lot quicker and more expensive than the usual trains which leave from Victoria or Charing Cross.
