There are a lot of hotels that fit your needs. A budget would be helpful, as would the time of year and the arrondissement you are interested in. It you are going to be in Paris for 5 to 7 days, then I highly recommend an apartment (www.parisperfect.com).
Here's a couple of threads to get you started.
What type of "good service" are you looking for?

To stay with your kids, I recommend Hotel Aiglon in Montparnasse. They have family suites, this modern feel you like and easy acces to the metro. And kids are welcome!

Depending on how long you are staying, you might consider an apt which can provide more room, kitchen, separate bedroom(s). We are taking our first trip to Paris in late June for 1 week and are going that route. Numerous apt rental companies and based on information gleaned from this wonderful forum, we booked a 2 BR with vacations in paris.
