There’s a really interesting arts festival going on in Oradea. It’s generally during early autumn, this year it’s between the 21th of September and the 24th. It’s called the International Gala of the Cultural Trafficker.
I went there last year, and was really surprised of how varied and great the art and performances were.

It’s a great mix between all major art forms, like the theatre (high class performances from diverse theatre groups during the 4 days), cinema (really interesting movie screenings), music (dj sets and live concerts that range from lounge to jazz and everything in between), painting and graphics by a host of incredible artists from the region and beyond, sculpture, installations, and I think there’s even an alternative fashion show.
This all happens in an ex-factory, and the way they have arranged the space is a marvel in itself.
The ticket is pretty cheap, last year it was about 1 euro, but this year it will be around 3, but looking at the extensive range they offer, it is more than reasonable.

If you are on your way to Romania, and especially if you plan a trip to Oradea in that time, it’s definitely something to check out!
