In May I want to spend a weekend in one of the Scottish Islands so that I and Mrs Bilbo can show my Kiwi niece how nice one of them is. I've spent a week in the Orkneys some years ago which were great. I'm assuming we will fly in from Glasgow which means we can fly into Islay, Kirkwall, Tiree, Barra, Campbeltown, Stornoway, Benbecula or Sumburgh.
Which would you visit for a long weekend and why?

Any would be great but Islay might just tip the others -- especially if you are at all into Whisky. If so, it would be a must.
I think my own personal choices for a stand-alone weekend would be Islay or the Orkneys
Thanks Janisj
