My husband and I will be traveling to Europe for 9 days during the first week of April 2013. We are planning to visit Paris for 4 days and are trying to narrow down our second destination. We are looking at Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhangen, and the Lake Lcerene area of Switzerland. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

There is no city after Paris!!
Personally, I would not go to another city. I would pick a region of France such as the Loire Valley or Normandy and rent a car, visiting smaller towns, chateau, historic sights and the beautiful countryside. I don't like to go so far and limit myself to the urban view only.
It that is not to your taste, then I'd vote for Amsterdam.
