My husband and I will be taking a Road Scholar trip to Poland in October. Before we join the group in Gdansk, we would like to spend a few days in Prague. Is traveling between the cities by train feasible? Or, should we plan to fly?
Recommendations for small, well located lodging would be appreciated. We usually prefer to stay in older or historic hotels with updated amenities.
Thanks!
Leilei

It isn't feasible by train, it is much too far and too long a trip.
Of course it's feasible, why wouldn't it be? And a day when the scenery comes to you, an insight into the countries you pass through. No airprot stress, no flights, centre to centre.
Pargue depart 10:29, Berlin arrive 15:14, by modern EuroCity train with air-con and a sit-down restaurant car. Then Berlin depart 15:37, Gdansk arrive 22:06.
Prague to Berlin from €29 at www.bahn.de/en or www.cd.cz/eshop
Or take the Prague-Warsaw sleeper, departs Prague 22:09, arrives Warsaw 07:17. Change for train to Gdansk, departs Warsaw 09:24 arrives Gdansk 14:12. I'd be tempted to see Warsaw for a morning, though! Book this at the station, there's always places available. This is what the Prague to Warsaw sleeping-car looks like, a nice refurbished Polish one: http://www.vagonweb.cz/fotogalerie/PL/PKP_WLABouz.php
Fare Prague-Warsaw about €70 each with bed in 2-bed sleeper, Warsaw to Gdansk what, maybe €30.
