My cousin is flying into Amsterdam and then picking up a car in Gothenburg.
What is the best way for her to get there? Are there any smaller European airlines that she could take? Thanks for your help.
Train or plane from Amsterdam to Gothenburg, Sweden?

Plane, without a doubt. KLM fly direct. The earlier you book the cheaper it is.
You can save maybe €20 by going with Lufthansa and changing, but that is hardly a significant saving, given the length of time the journey will then take.
Yeh it is a long long train ride - taking an overnight train to Copenhagen then another 4 hours or so to Gothenburg. Fly.
Thanks a lot. So none of the smaller airlines fly there, I guess. A direct flight to Gothenburg sounds good.
Sarah
Try Norwegian Airlines (small), KLM or Lufthansa.
Thanks, I"ll check Norwegian, too?
For future reference http://www.whichbudget.com/ is a good source for finding cheapo flights on the smaller airlines in Europe.

Amsterdam Centraal depart 19:01, Copenhagen arrive 10:07 next morning, by excellent City Night Line sleeper train, from €59 with couchette, €104 with bed in a 2-bed sleeper. Book in advance at www.bahn.de
Then take the hourly Copenhagen to Gothenburg Oresund Link train, around €45, buy at the station, fixed price, no reservation necessary. The 10:32 arrives Gothenburg 14:15.
I'm glad to know about www.which budget.com. It's hard to find that kind of information by googling.
I'll send that train info to my cousin. Thanks for helping.
I just checked the cost on the whichbudget site and found a fare for $130.00 Amsterdam to Stockholm. Yes, that is amazing.
That's a great price!
