Train from Budapest to Vienna. Look for lost cost airlines from Budapest to Paris.

Budapest to Vienna is easy - there are a bunch of trains every day (2 most hours) that take about 3 hours.
Train doesn't work for that route - takes forever. You should check the budget airlines to see what the options are - skyscanner.com to check for your dates.
correction: lost = low
Thank you that helps
If you did want to do the whole lot by train you coudld do something like:
Paris > Frankfurt (by Intercity train) - 4hrs
Frankfurt > Vienna (this is an overnight service) - about 11hrs
Vienna > Budapest - 3hrs by Railjet high speed train
So depending on your plans you could reach Budapest via Vienna, rather going from Paris through to Budapest and then backtracking to Vienna.
Happy railing!
