We really want to drive from Monte Carlo to Genoa, giving us a car while in Italy as well.
Any recommendations or pros/cons to this would be MUCH appreciated!

Two negatives:
1. Have you checked out the big drop charge between countries?
2. The drive has dozens of tunnels making it not much fun.
Thanks for this info, do appreciate. Seems there would be a scenic route once you got into Italy - is there a coastal route once in Italy - or purley A12? If not, train into Genoa may be best option.
We had hoped we could work out a scenic drive over.
Thanks again.
and one more question - what about scenic route - SP1. finding some info on that. doable in a day from Montecarlo to Genoa?
Really slow.
Train to Genoa and get the car there. The coast south of there is really cool---see Camogli and SML and Portofino.
thanks for info!
