Hi All! I was just in the Dordogne Valley in France and absolutely loved it. I didn't know much about the area before, but it is full of beautiful towns and countryside, and great food. I even went truffle hunting with a dog one day!
I highly recommend the area if you go to France and want to visit a more off-the-beaten-path destination, especially if you like history and/or food.
I wrote about the trip on my blog if you want to read more: http://www.aladyinlondon.com/2013/01/dordogne-valley-france-travel.html, and also posted my photos here: https://www.facebook.com/aladyinlondon.

Beautifully done!
"The owners, Anna and Abel, welcomed us with wine by a warm fireplace, then took us into the huge kitchen, where a table was set for a five-course meal of truffle with foie gras, truffle eggs, truffle risotto, veal, and chocolate fondants. We drank Sancerre and Bordeaux, and floated back to our rooms on a dream."
I felt as if I had been with you.
Thanks Mikenmass! I'm glad you were able to travel vicariously with me!
