Hi, crellston,
I haven't stayed there yet, but I will be going to Pension Paris in early May. http://www.pensionparis.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=46&Itemid=53&lang=en
Double room with private bathis 40 euros.
This place comes highly recommended from other people who have walked the Camino de Levante from Valencia to Santiago de Compostela. I plan to spend two nights there to enjoy the city a bit before walking, and I've been told it is very well situated for visiting all the sights.
I don't think it has parking, but google maps show several parking garages very close by.

I used a airbnb find last summer in Valencia. I stayed in a nice apartment. It was a 15 minute walk to the beach and 10 minutes to a bus stop. Email: maria villar (mariavl@hotmail.com). She was on airbnb, but if you email her, she can tell you which one to look at on airbnb. Ask for the room with air conditioning that faces the large courtyard.
Tell her John and Sue sent you. The guy with the scooter. She will remember us.
