I attended brotherleelove's gathering two years ago, and had a great time. It was wonderful to match screen names with faces, and chat about our experiences in Greece. Several of us tweaked our itineraries so we could be there on the night. As Lee already knows, I can't be there this time, but highly recommend it to anyone who can.

What a great invitation! I'd love to come but can't, I have the same dilemma as KayF - it's too far from Australia to plan this quickly. Hope you have a great time!

I have seen your name quite a few times and have a feeling you know quite a bit about Santorini...I'm trying to get information to plan a trip there. Is there a direct email to reach you regarding travel there? I'm looking to go in August (23), stay for three or four days and then fly or get to Rome but I don't know the best method to get to Rome. We only have 3 weeks and plan to get married in Santorini. Sorry to bother you with all these questions (I do have more) but I saw your name in the Fodor's books, and figured you were an expert in the area.

Hi there, we see your name pop up all the time with great advice!
We are from New Zealand coming to Greece and Turkey in Sep 2013 . We want to fly from Rome and visit Mykonos, Santorini, then go to Turkey. We want to go down, or up the west coast, visiting Istanbul, Gallipoli, and down to Fethiye.
Rather than backtrack to Istanbul to fly out, van we go South to North ? Is that feasible, and what would be the logical itinerary .
Any help much appreciated, ..

Lest anyone think the gathering is in May 2013, this post was for 2011. Perhaps Lee will have another gathering next year, though.

Brotherleelove - will you be on Santorini at the end of June? We'll be on our way to Crete, then back to Paros. Maybe Heimdall will be in Antiparos? Looking forward to summer 2013!

I haven't figured out yet if I'll be going next year, but if I do I probably won't be hosting another gathering. The one in 2011 was a big disappointment. Only 5 people showed up. I'm sure the restaurant lost money that night since they prepared extra food for my "promised" guests.

That's sad to hear, Lee. The previous gathering (was it in 2009?) was great fun, and well attended.

I'm hoping to visit my family back in the States next June, so won't be on Antiparos at that time. Tentative plans are to go in September, and spend some time on the mainland as well.
