I think I know the answer to this question is "no, you can't" but I'll ask anyway. If the answer is here, I just haven't found it.
Many boards I use allow me to select some way for the board to alert me that there has been a reply posted, so I don't have to remember to go back maybe days or weeks later to see if there has been. I know that once I do remember, all I need to do is to go to my profile, but I'm looking for something more automatic, more "idiot-proof" that protects me from myself and my senior memory! Is that possible on this forum? If it is, I haven't found out how to do it.
Being alerted when there's a reply to my messages

At this point it is not possible to sign up for email alerts when someone responds to your post. Many members have asked for such a feature, and we are looking into it.

Hi tomseeley, if you should come back and see this...
I tend to come to Fodors by calling up the URL for my profile page (for you: http://www.fodors.com/community/profile/tomseeley/) and then I can see if topics I have commented on or started have gained new comments.
True, it's not the same as an alert, but perhaps you'll find it a useful tip.
Cheers.
