just copy/paste (or type) the url and it will become a link automatically

Go back to your comment
Right click and hit paste and your link will appear

I think those instructions are for pc only (mac users don't do right clicks and I don't have to minimize anything.)
I usually have many tabs open so that I can be working on many things at once so instead of minimizing a screen and having another screen open you can just click from tab to tab.
Another way to copy is to click on the address of your link then hold down the CTRL button (control) and press the C key . This copies the address line. Now go to the reply box and click on where you want the link to appear in the box and hold down the CTRL button and press the V key. This will paste the address you just copied.
