The moving banner ads, please stop!!

The banner ads at the top of the page, most recently from Avis, Hertz and a cruise line (forget which) prevent the forums from loading. I have to refresh the page up to five times before I get to the forum I want or see the thread I clicked on. Forum Moderators, do you have any idea how annoying and frustrating this is!!?? I guess I need to update my ad blocking software because these things just won't die.

I understand how advertising helps pay for the costs of running these forums, but the ads shouldn't be blocking access to them!!
