Arenal and Manuel Antonio Night Walk & Guided Tours

First of all, thank you to all the forum contributors! I've just begun planning an August, 2013 trip to Costa Rica for my family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) and you've already helped enormously with my plans. We will spend the bulk of our time in Arenal and Manuel Antonio. Before I post a proposed itinerary, I would be most grateful for any feedback on a couple of activities:

I am trying to determine in which location to do a guided night walk. It looks like some candidates for Arenal would be an Ecocentro Danaus Night Tour, Arenal Oasis Night Walk, or a guided El Silencio Trail. In Manuel Antonio the Rainmaker Conservation Project looks good. I would love to hear opinions about those outings.

Also, I need to maximize my budget because there is so much to do in Arenal. I plan to hire a guide for the Hanging Bridges. Would anyone recommend also hiring a guide for either El Silencio Trail or Arenal Volcano National Park, or is that something we can do solo?
