I would absolutely looove to go to Bosque Del Cabo but I just can't swing the cost. Is there any place anywhere else with this type of nature and adventure at your fingertips that is more affordable? It doesn't even have to be Costa Rica!
Thank you!

There's nothing else out there like it, huh?
I don't think it's entirely comparable, but closer to town there's a place called Cabinas Jimenez that people seem to like and that isn't as pricey. I believe it's on the water. Maybe explore that one a bit and see what you think.
Thank you - I will check it out! Anybody else care to chime in? Any place like this anywhere? I love nature and adventure.
Selva Verde/La Selva biological station in the Sarapiqui area.
Also look at the Arenal Observatory Lodge (only place in Costa Rica we've seen a wild cat--jaguarundi).
If you like adventure, you would probably love the Arenal/La Fortuna area. There are a lot of hotel options there. Silencio del Campo is another popular spot.
Have you thought about Tortuguero? After the Osa Peninsula, this ranks 2nd on my list for wildlife sightings. I love BdC, but it is pricey and Tortuguero is a much cheaper alternative. We use Fran and Modesto Watson www.tortuguerocanals.com
Sarapiqui is #3 on my list, love both Selva Verde and La Selva. I have not stayed at La Selva, but have taken daytours (birding) two times. The grounds at Selva Verde are awesome!
Thank you for all your suggestions. I'll be sure to check them out. I looked up Cabinas Jimenez and it looks like a great place and half the price of BdC. I'll check the others out later. Thanks!
