Hello all! My sister and I are planning a Costa Rica trip at the end of March but we don't live near eachother and have opposite work schedules so its hard to plan this together. I wanted to see if we can get advice on planning our trip here! We have many things we want to and were trying to find an area that covers it all so we dont have to do much travelling within the Costa Rica. I am able to drive if need be but would prefer private/public transportation. Things were interested in doing:
- Bungee Jumping
- Ziplining
- Hanging Bridges
- Sloth Sanctuary
Thanks so much for any advice you can give us! We really appreciate it!!!

Three weeks in August 2011 - trip report

Oh and I forgot, also would like to see The Arenal Volcano!
Fly into San Jose. Either rent a car, arrange for a driver or take Interbus to Arenal. You can do many of the things you want at Arenal. I would then suggest either heading to Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean side or Manuel Antonio on the Pacific side. It all depends how much time you have and your budget.
Thanks for the reply and advice Michelle, I did forget to mention that - Budget is around $1500 each and will be staying a week there
I haven't seen bungee jumping in Costa Rica, but you can zipline at Sky Trek in the Arenal area and also go canyoneering/waterfall rappelling; you can hike the Hanging Bridges, and you can visit the Proyecto Asis animal rescue center - we were able to feed a sloth when we were there along with other animals. You can hire a private driver for about $140 one way from SJO to the Arenal area. Interbus will be cheaper, but you would have to work around their schedule.
With a week, do 2 locations. Manuel Antonio would be a great addition to Arenal . Plenty of price points to choose from at both.
