Where are you staying? I ask because Los Cabos is a spread out area, with the two town and the "Corridor" stretching in between. Are you staying right in downtown CSL?

I have never done any hiking, but there are really cool places to hike in the very high mountains north of Los Cabos. Waterfalls, springs etc. Outfitters offer activities to these areas. Here are some links to get you started. Water sports are the big attraction in this area.

The largest historical town is San Jose del Cabo, a mission town. North from there are several small towns with historical value. El Triunfo is an old mining town. Miraflores is a reaching town. We have been curious about these places, but have not visited, yet. Perhaps on our next trip.

There's a tiny museum off the town square in downtown Cabo that shows some history of the area.

My favorite restaurants were: Misiones de Kino, Maros Shrimp House, Mama's Royal (breakfast). I hear the new restaurant at Mar de Cortez, Baja Peppers is good (but new since I've been there). Gordo Lele's for tacos or tortas for lunch.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. Suze, I am staying at Hotel Casa Natalia at Mijares Centro 23400 - San José del Cabo. Do you know this immediate area well? Just curious. It is nice to see San Jose Del Cabo has some history. Also, do you remember the name of the tiny museum? How long will you be there? If you have lots of time, head up to La Paz and do some kayaking around the island. Or go to Cabo San Lucas or up to Todos Santos. Whale watching will still be in full swing. Head out to the East Cape,and Cabo Pulmo. Cabo Pulmo is an underwater sanctuary and one of,the few coral reefs left in the Sea of Cortez. Go to dive or snorkel. There is also snorkeling at Santa Maria or Chileno Beach.

The Holiday Inn in SJ has baby turtle releases, so perhaps inquire about that(free). There are other free and fee releases also.

When we are staying near San Jose, we go at least once out on the East Cape to Buzzards for a great meal. Love their fish tacos or,Coconut shrimp and margaritas. We have also gone out to Zak's, which is further out on the Cape for lunch. We have had Mexican food in SJ at the Tropicana($$), Breakfast at the French Bakery( good. Sardina Cantina on the Highway at Playa Azul($$, great), Cynthia's Organic for lunch($). In December we tried Floras Field Kitchen. A little over priced for what you get but in a lovely setting and the food and drinks were food.

I think Casa Natalia has an agreement with one of the complexes on the beach for day use? That will be nice.

Warning!! Watch out for the timeshare sharks. They are there as soon as you pass customs at the airport and EVERYWHERE you go, even the grocery store or at the bus stop. No kidding. So be aware.

Michelle, thanks for getting back to me. I will be in Cabo for roughly 4 days. So, you mentioned Cabo Pulmo (underwater sanctuary) is that far from where I am staying? And also, are cabs cheap and plentiful in this part of Mexico?

I appreciate your advice, tips, and recommendations.
