We are looking at a couple of different options of houses to rent on Roatan on the east and west side of the island. Can anyone tell me what advantages and disadvantages there are to each area of the island? And what about safety? I've recently read some pretty alarming articles on the conditions in Honduras.

We recently visited Club Natale just 10 minutes from Mahogany Bay. It was a beautiful area -- just six people on the beach. They train nationals to work on cruise ships. The beach was absolutely stunning, snorkeling in protected area was great; white caps prevented us from going out to the reef to snorkel. The condos are new - we toured one and the bath and kitchen tiles were equal to any 4 star U.S. resort. We swam in the pool, which sits in front, and is high up over the beach - so the view is breathtaking. It cost us five U.S. dollars to spend the day, plus what we spent in the small restaurant. Wonderful ambience, family friendly, and people who are striving to please. contact JosephNataleVentures@gmail.com.
