We've stayed at Grano de Oro - great historical hotel. If you like a city hotel, it's a good choice. I don't think they have a required dress code there, but it's kind of high end. I wore a casual skirt, and my husband wore khaki slacks. It's the only place he's ever worn them in CR. The food is excellent. Hopefully someone else can help with the Pavas question. They have great breakfasts too. Service is wonderful.
