Hi, I plan to fly into San Pedro Sula Honduras next week...and was wondering if there is anything to see there? If there is a good place to stay? Is it safe to take the bus to Copan or La Ceiba? Is it safe? Thanks very much.

San Pedro Sula doesn't have a great reputation for safety. It's not that there aren't safe areas (at least during the day) or things to see but I choose to head out as soon as I land, either by plane or Hedman Alas bus.

You can either take a Hedman shuttle from the airport to the bus station or take a taxi to there, depending on how your schedule fits. We've had 4 wonderful trips to Honduras; you can see the photos and read about the trips below. Happy trails!

There isn't much to keep you there anyway, at least nothing I'd sacrifice time in Copan or elsewhere for. If your flight gets into SAP too late to head out anywhere, stay the night and leave the next morning. If your flight home leaves early in the morning, you may need to come back to the city the night before.
I'm flying there in July but plan to get the hell out of the airport and to the beaches of Tela, Honduras asap. In fact, we're hoping to live in Tela by late summer if it all checks out.
