I am considering a flight from the US to Costa Rica on Taca airlines. It includes a layover of 30 minutes in San Salvadore. I'd never consider that short of a layover at most airports and wonder if I should consider this flight. Any comments?

Believe it or not, it works there. You don't have to go through customs or anything because you never officially enter El Salvador. The TACA gates are all right together, and they do a good job of keeping track of who's connecting from what flight. You just walk to your new gate.
Thanks!
traveler: this is what I posted on your other thread:
traveler2005: Our flight had a 30 minute connection in San Salvador. Needless to say, I was nervous. Fodorites assured me that the San Salvador airport was very small and easy, plus there are many other connections going on to San Jose. No problems at all. Good luck.
On the way back to SFO, we opted for the earlier flight to San Salvador and had a long layover. The last flight from San Jose was late, so the flight to SFO was delayed to accomodate those going on to the US.
This is so funny because I went on and on all the way from Boston about how we were never going to make it and what are we going to do, - i drove my family crazy - when we got to San Salvador and walked off the plane not only were we already at the right gate they failed to tell us even thogh i asked that it was the same plane!!! Itis really quite a nice airport with cute shops so enjoy!!!!
Honest. I've flown through San Salvador a lot over the years with those short conenction times. TACA, with the help of a very efficient airport, manages to do it.
