This question is for a friend over on Trip Advisor who doesn't post here. They are looking for a Zihuat hotel along the lines of our mutual favorite 'Posada de Roger' in Puerto Vallarta (for those not familiar specifically we're talking about $50usd/night, basic rooms, small pool, a few blocks from the beach).
Any suggestions for similar hotels available in Zijuat? muchas gracias, suze

There are no exact matches but lots of excellent choices. Most do not have websites & do not take CC. Many in the 300 to 400 peso range. A few with pools some without. It is important to check first hand as Downtown Zihua has a lot of bars which can run late so pick your location carefully.
I might suggest a bit up grade looking at The Hotel Solimar Suites http://www.solimarinn.com/solimar_des_ing.htm
But a 5 minute stroll from El Central, also the same from Playa Madera. Near many of the best restaurants in Zhiu, both budget & moderate.
Located overlooking a small park all suites have balconies, Kitchenettes, separate bedroom, living room, A/C, Cable,WiFi & daily maid service.
Clean & very secure. Run by possibly the nicest family in Zihua who all speak English.
Lovely inner court yard with a nice pool. Discounts for extended stays.
If they wish to contact me I can recommend some excellent bungalow, apartment rentals at prices as little as $300 US a month
