Rail Service in London - One Day Trips
Suggestions for using London's rail service?
I find myself getting very confused as I try and make plans for one-day trips outside of London. There is the GWR, the South Western Railway and the South Eastern Railway.
I want to plan a day trip from London to Bath, Windsor, and Dover (the Waterloo Station) is the nearest rail/tube station.
Any suggestions on how best to plan for this and pre-purchase tickets? Thank you!

The train stations are laid out in a kind of circle around central London and each station sends trains out in a different direction.
Use the National Rail site and don't use specific London stations to search - - - Say you want to go to Bath plug in 'London all stations' and Bath Spa and it will give you the route/times and London station (in this case it would be Paddington).
Some destinations are served by more than one London station and the National Rail site will list any/all.
