I'm planning on doing some hiking in Chalten for a couple days, but my flight time into Calafate might be too tight to catch the bus to Chalten. I have a question about the bus, but mostly I have questions about hiring a driver. I do not want to rent a car.
* Is the bus to Chalten in a location right off the airport? I'm just wondering about timing, incase I am able to make the connection and if it's relatively close by, or if I need to plan for extra amount of time to get to the bus.
* Is it easy to hire a driver from Calafate to Chalten?
* Is this something I need to reserve ahead of time, or are they readily available upon arrival at the airport?
* Typically how much does hiring a driver cost for this trip?
* Does anyone have recommendations on a driver if they've done this in the past?
*Is the process the same if I want to hire a driver from Chalten to Calafate?
Thank you in advance for your help and guidance!

The bus leaves from the bus station in town. Coming back from El Chalten we dropped some passengers at the airport, but I don't remember going by the airport on the way to El Chalten. Of course, it was probably too early for there to be any pasengers.
I have no idea about hiring drivers, as I took the bus. However, besides the shuttle I rode into town from the airport, there were car hire offices and taxis, but it would be a very expensive taxi ride. I suggest contacting the place(s) you are staying to see if you can arrange a car and driver.
