Hi
Am thinking of going to Colonia from BA. How does one get the ferry ticket? And is it safe/easy to drive? Am thinking of going to the Four Seasons in Carmelo and am not sure what's the best way to do so from BA. The car that the Four Seasons is offering is ridiculously priced so am thinking of alternatives. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

From BA to Colonia I took the BuqueBus.

We did the trip in reverse from Colonia to BA - easy to buy the ticket at the terminal.

good info piece of cake buy a ticket and go for it
You can buy your ticket by email from Buquebus or call by phone and they will send you by email your ticket you print it and that is it, but if you do not print it as long as you remember the numer they will give you, it is just as well, you get to the port and giving the number is all you need.
Once in Colonia, may be you can take a taxi to Carmelo, you can bargain a little for a flat fare or you can rent a car. Driving is safe and easy you can rent a car at Thirfty and others.
I agree probably the Four Seasons charge a lot to pick you up, probably overpriced.
I just showed up at the ferry station and bought a ticket. It was easy. The ride was nice and you are deposited within easy walking distance to the heart of Colonia. I thought Colonia was quite lovely and wished I had booked an overnight there.
